September 4, 2008 - After seemingly "participating" in two turns of the Avalon Hill online Guadalcanal Campaign, Brother Brian is dropping out to spend more time on other gaming efforts. It was frustrating to play a total of 3 fleet actions and 5 ground battles and not see the effects of your results in the campaign. Neat idea on Avalon Hill's part ... not too well executed.

August 30, 2008 - As part of Turn-2 in the Avalon Hill online Guadalcanal Campaign, Brother Brian completes two solo games of Axis & Allies War at Sea via the MapView game system. For more info, check out the following After-Action Reports.

August 29, 2008 - New jungle maps for the MapView gaming system are now available for download here and use in the current Avalon Hill Guadalcanal campaign.

August 25, 2008 - Orders form High Command have been issued and American and Japanes forces square off against each other for Turn-2 of the Guadalcanal Campaign.

August 15, 2008 - The opening shots of the Axis & Allies Guadalcanal Campaign have begun with the clash of Imperial Japanese soldiers and US Marines in the dense jungles of the Solomon Islands. Follow the action via these recently posted MapView game files and After-Action Reports.

August 9, 2008 - Brother Brian and son, Ben, play the Agincourt scenario in their first game of BattleLore. This cool game by Days of Wonder uses the same command and control mechanics as Command & Colors Ancients.

We had a great game that went down to the wire with three banners claimed on each side. Victory finally went to the French with a last ditch effort charge of medium infantry. The playability of this game makes for a qucik, fun, challenging melee game that I much prefer to Warhammer Fantasy. I wonder about the possibility of using these rules with 15mm historical minitaures for different periods of history?

August 7, 2008 - Axis & Allies Guadalcanal Campaign begins using Axis & Allies Miniatures and War at Sea game systems.

June 14th, 2008 - PSC & Brother Tom host "Overlord-08" a 1750 point Normandy Campaign themed late war Flames of War Tournament. This will be a Qaulifying Event for the US Nationals.

January 19th, 2008 - PSC & Brother Tom host "Wolfkrieg-08" a 1500 point late war Flames of War Tournament

Hail Fellow Wargamers!

The Burgess Brothers started miniature wargaming nearly three decades ago. Over our lives, military service and careers have kept us largely separated for 20 of those 30 years but we have always made a point of wargaming whenever we could get together. This site is in part an effort to rekindle that early gaming enthusiasm and to share it with our wargaming friends.

For the most part we started with old ESCI 1/72 scale ancients glued on strips of cardboard using very simple homegrown rules. From there we expanded into 15mm & 25mm metal collections from various periods. We were on board with the initial introduction of Warhammer 40K and came to enjoy other GW games, especially Warmaster. Now that Warhammer Historicals is publishing Ancient Warmaster, we find ourselves returning to our roots with Ancient Wargaming. The 10mm miniatures of Warmaster are well suited to the constant moves of military life and the distances we must travel to game with each other.

So, welcome to a small part or our world and come back often as we continue to expand this site with new ideas and future projects. Currently Brother Tom is stationed at Ft Knox, KY and games in the Louisville, KY area while Brother Brian is at Quantico, VA and games in N.Va area.
